New Students

Carolina Voyager Charter School is a free public charter school admitting students from Kindergarten to 6th grade during the 2018 – 2019 academic year and space may be limited to grade level capacities.

If your child has been accepted, please review the below important final enrollment steps.

Selection Timeline

Applications for the 2018 – 2019 academic school year will be accepted through the CCSD Lottery from January 10th- February 10th. Applications after February 10th must be submitted to Carolina Voyager Charter School office or via email. If the number of applications does not exceed classroom capacity, student admission will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Parents or guardians will be notified by email and will know of the student’s enrollment no later than one week after the lottery. Thereafter, families placed on the wait-list will be notified if classroom slots become available.

Enrollment Acceptance

If your student is officially accepted, please provide the following documentation to Carolina Voyager Charter School office no later than June 28th.

The following documents are required to complete the enrollment process:

1.)  Copy of Birth Certificate.

2.) Copy of Immunization records from DHEC or pediatrician.

  • Rising Kindergartener’s are required to have boosters for Measles (MMR) and Chicken Pax (Varicella) between the ages of 4 and 6.

3.)  Two proofs of residency of Charleston County showing the correct residential address. Note that Carolina Voyager requires one proof of residency from both Category A and Category B below:

  • Category A:
    • Copy of mortgage agreement or lease / rental contract
      • Alternatively, in lieu of the above documents, Charleston County School District offers an affidavit that may be completed and notarized to validate residency.
  • Category B:
    • Copy of current utility bill that indicates the same address as the documents from Category A. This can include cell phone, cable, water or electric bills.
      • Note that a driver’s license cannot complete this requirement.
