CVCS Students

The mission of Carolina Voyager Charter School is to create resilient learners and empathetic citizens by fostering, supporting, and promoting excellence in learning in an engaging, technology rich environment balanced with the social and emotional development of the 21st century student.

CVCS

As a public charter school, we are held to a higher standard that requires the demographics of the student body to closely mirror the diverse demographics of the Charleston area. Currently, Voyager’s demographic makeup is approximately 60% white and 40% minority.

Technology in the Classroom

Blended learning combines traditional classroom teaching with personalized instruction and online technology to meet the specific needs of every student. Additionally, students attend weekly technology classes where they use a variety of game-based applications and robots to learn coding skills that are integral to a 21st century education.

Staff

Since Carolina Voyager Charter School’s founding in 2014, staff members have continually exemplified the school’s mission and are committed to the school’s future expansion.

Social & Emotional Learning

Social and Emotional Learning promotes young people’s academic success, health, and well-being while preventing problems such as alcohol and drug use, violence, truancy, and bullying.

Small Group Learning

Teachers use small group rotations to target Reading and Math instruction to the individual needs of their students.

Testimonials - What Parents are Saying

“My son started kindergarten and is about to complete the first grade. I have seen his transformation from a quiet, shy, and easily embarrassed child to a confident and proud little man. His teacher for both years, Miss Snype is an absolute gem. Just one visit to her classroom and you’ll see how how much she loves her kids and how much they love and respect her. I can’t say enough about the school leader, office staff, teachers, teaching assistants, and the school nurse. We are moving across the country and I’ll have to choose another school for my son. My only hope is that I’ll be able to find one just like Carolina Voyager Charter School. ”

Melissa Silvis

“Wonderful school with extraordinary leadership and amazing teachers and staff…we love CCVS❤️!”

Frankie Maffett

“My daughter is in the 3rd grade at Carolina Voyager and she loves it! The principal and staff are Awesome. I am very pleased that we made the transition. Her grades are wonderful and she loves the environment.”

Angie Stewart

“My son is in Kindergarten here. He loves it! He is challenged, engaged, and loves to go to school now, which was not the case when he was in his very expensive pre-school.
It astonishes me how much is expected of kindergartens these days. I feel a little bad for underestimating his aptitudes, he was just bored before.
The adaptive iPad programs really help teach to the specific needs. He has read 70 books on his iPad this year. Last year I couldn’t even make him practice his sight words. His teachers, Ms. Lake & Ms. Day, are well educated passionate professionals, not the babysitters I remember having in Kindergarten!”
