School Choice Week
This coming week is National School Choice Week. This week is dedicated to celebrating school choice. We will be doing several activities with the children during the week to help them appreciate how fortunate they are to be able to attend a school like Carolina Voyager.
Government Shut Down
As the government shutdown continues on, we recognize that some of our families may be negatively impacted by the lack of wages and/or supportive programs. If your family is in need of support during this time or you would like a list of community resource agencies, please contact us at email@example.com.
2018 was a huge year for our Voyager Tennis Team. Our kids brought home a trophy and won the league championship. We had great participation and hope to have the same this year. We will also be adding another team for our 5th / 6th Graders and the more advanced 4th grade players.
Please stop by the office or have your child pick up a tennis packet from the front office. Fees will be $40 per player and will include the city registration fee, a T-Shirt, a tennis program through a local tennis professional and supplies needed for matches and practice.
The tennis team needs another coach. If you have any tennis experience and are interested in coaching, please contact Marc Stein or Roy Francia.
Participation packets will be available on Monday. Deadline for participation and packets will be January 30th.
Questions please contact Marc Stein – firstname.lastname@example.org or Roy Francia – email@example.com.
The next PTO Meeting in scheduled for February 5th at 5:30 p.m. here on campus. All families are invited to attend.
We have started a new Box Top Collection Contest that will end on March 1st. Start sending in those box tops.
Look for more information on the annual Hot Dog Picnic coming your way soon. The event will be held in March.
The PTO would like to host a Multicultural Night in April. We are looking for families that would like to be involved to highlight their culture traditions, foods, language, etc. Please email Aimee Peterson at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to get involved.
My son is in town from Baltimore for the weekend. We had a chance to get out and play golf yesterday and are getting ready to head out to play again this afternoon. Harry is enjoying our weather, especially in light of the fact he barely got out of Baltimore Thursday night because of heavy snow. They can have it, right?
Our Maryland Terrapins won again last night – yea! It looks like they will move up further in the rankings. We have a big game Monday night against Michigan State. Who needs NFL football my Cowboys fans, Eagles fans, and the fans of 26 other teams? Go Saints?
I hope everyone has a great weekend and that you are able to get out and enjoy this beautiful weather. Winter looks to be roaring back into the picture next week. Just a reminder that school will be closed on Monday to honor the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
